Further opportunities in the newly recognised epithermal/porphyry belt and underlying basement geology in our extensive Eyre Peninsula tenement holding
Investigator manages the Thurlga Joint Venture Project, with JV partner and tenement holder, Peninsula Resources Ltd (100% held by Andromeda Metals Ltd). Investigator has the right to earn 75% legal and beneficial interest in the tenement.
The Thurlga tenement abuts the western side of the Peterlumbo tenement. Geological mapping of limited outcrop, ground gravity and airborne magnetic surveys and a broad soil geochemical program have identified targets variously for silver, copper, gold and nickel. Following a successful Heritage clearance survey, an aircore drilling program was completed over the five preferential target areas; Wide, Yorker, Starburst, Ironstone/Ironstone South and Swinger in March 2017. The 20 aircore holes for 1,066m, is being co-funded as part of the South Australian Government’s drilling incentive scheme. Assays are pending.
The Uno/Morgans Project, 85km east of the Paris Silver Project, has a similar structural setting to Paris. First-pass scout drilling in August 2014 intersected shallow intersections of lead, zinc, and silver mineralisation at the Hurricane Prospect. In August 2015, a detailed heli-borne aeromagnetic and radiomagnetic survey over the eastern portion of the Morgans tenement, including the 12 Mile Ironstone prospect, identified for its epithermal veins, a secondary target of nickel anomalous ironstone. Mapping and rock chip sampling continues, using coincident cobalt, nickel, cerium and lithium soil anomalies. This new approach worked well with a significant number of new cobalt bearing manganiferous ironstone samples being collected within the Uno and Morgans tenements.
